I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Sacramento, CA. I specialize in supporting adults and adolescents who struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and life coaching. With over ten years of experience in mental health services, I integrate evidence-based and holistic methods, including CBT, ACT, psychodynamic, and narrative therapies.
My therapeutic approach combines traditional techniques like Jungian psychology and Adlerian therapy with contemporary frameworks such as Liberation Health and Feminist theory. I earned my degree from the Smith College School for Social Work and have been part of Sacramento State University for the past three years. During this time, I have refined my mindfulness-based techniques and empowerment practices, significantly contributing to my clients' success and progress.
My main goals for my clients include alleviating symptoms of trauma, anxiety, and depression, enhancing relationships, and fostering personal growth and resilience. I believe in everyone's inherent capacity for healing and growth. My unique perspective acknowledges and integrates clients' diverse identities, experiences, and cultures with psychodynamic therapy, leading to enduring changes and increased self-esteem and compassion. My success in practice stems from my passion for helping individuals thrive in their environments, offering a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for exploring their thoughts and feelings.
Outside of my professional work, I am an avid pianist who enjoys watching anime, playing video games, golfing, and dancing. I draw inspiration from people's ability to overcome challenges and am dedicated to supporting them in achieving their best selves. I accept insurance from Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Oscar, Aetna, UHC, and Oxford. If you are experiencing difficulties or simply want someone to talk to, please reach out via text or email.
My commitment to practicing inclusion in my practice is inspired by my own experience as a child of refugees from the Vietnam War, and by my experience growing up and working in diverse environments. I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.
As an advocate and social worker, I firmly believe in the transformative power of radical healing, which not only involves recognizing and challenging systemic oppression, but also actively advocating for those affected, fostering inclusive spaces, and tirelessly working towards positive change.
Through my extensive experience working with marginalized communities, such as Asian/Asian American, Pacific Islander, Southeast Asian communities, 2SLGBTQIA+, and individuals struggling with addiction, I recognize the significance of approaching individuals holistically.
Therapy with me is different for each person since I cater the therapy to match the needs of my clients. At the very least, I'll provide a warm, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where you can feel free to explore and express your authentic self. I'll be by your side as you navigate challenging experiences and perspectives, and I'll also be there to celebrate accomplishments with you.
I do not offer in-person therapy at this time. Currently, I am available for virtual sessions throughout California
My current fee for psychotherapy services is $175/hr.
I am able to offer a sliding scale fee based on need.
